Naples Community

The city of Naples was born on a boat pier in the late 1800´s. Wealthy northerners constructed homes next to the pier and gave birth to the community now referred to as Old Naples. In 1926 Naples added a railroad and then completed Highway 41 known as Tamiami Trail two years later, the town continued to develop towards the East, but the heart of the city remained where the original shell-lined roads previously ran.
